I fell in love with the poems in Fold Me A Poem before I knew anything about origami. So before I could even begin to sketch out my ideas, I made a trip to my local library and checked out a huge pile of books on origami. I quickly learned that there wasn’t just one way to fold a frog or a dog, so I folded many versions of each animal from each poem until I folded the particular one that seemed to speak to me and inspire a painting. Here is the list of books I used to teach myself origami. They range from beginning to advanced. If you are like me, you will start with easy folds, then fall in love with folding paper and then you won’t be able to stop until you find suddenly you are an advanced folder! Bravo!
